September 5, 2021
While there is nothing apocalyptic about the new 666 laws that went into effect on September 1, 2021, there does appear to be a degree of evil in the origin of some of them. Take for an example, the law that allow anyone twenty-one years of age or older, with no criminal record, the right to possess a handgun with no license and no training. That, my dear friends, is absolute madness. The wise man said it well: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” (Proverbs 29:2)
Good government is the responsibility of us all. Now, more than ever we must vote. Do not allow any impediments prevent you from exercising this sacred right. God has a way of turning things around. You must remember Joseph, how he treated his brothers kindly. The experiences in Joseph’s life taught him that God brings good from evil for those who trust Him.
Do you trust God enough to wait patiently for Him to bring good from the bad that happens to you? You can trust Him because, as Joseph learned God can transform evil into good, please take note of what Joseph says to his brothers: “And Joseph said unto them, fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.” (Genesis 50:19-20)

others?” (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.). It is this Pastor’s desire and prayer that out of Black History month will come the sense of community and the knowledge that the living God is with us and that it is He that has delivered us. Dr. King’s life and work as a national leader of the Civil Rights Movement was geared to improving the lot of all people—irrespective of race, creed, or heritage. He envisioned a world where we will all enjoy the blessings of freedom, hope, and justice. Dr. King’s dream has not as yet been fully realized, however, we praise God for the great improvements that have been made. We are all aware of the significant contributions to our community made by Dr. King, but the question each of us must answer is this: “What am I doing for other?”
