“HAPPY NEW YEAR!” How often we are greeted with that greeting. We are told “to” but not “How to”.
Here are three principles that will help the person who employs them, to have a happy new year.
Number One: We must have a “Kingdom mindset.” Matthew 6:22 tells us that our eyes are the “lamps” for our bodies. A pure eye allows sunshine into our souls. Stay positive. See what God has done, and is doing, for us and thru us. Don’t allow your life to be governed by negative thoughts and/or deeds. Stay away from negative people. They are poison to the soul. When you can’t isolate yourself from negative people, you can always insulate yourself with the living, covering, word of God.
Number Two: We must “settle the God matter” in our lives. We can only truly serve one master. As Christians, we cannot vacillate when it comes to things of God. We must say with certainty, as did Joshua: “but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15[d])
Thirdly: “Get a Kingdom Perspective.” Our focus should be the Kingdom of God. (His Kingdom – where the will of God is manifest in the earth realm.) We must aim at, and strive after, His Kingdom and His Righteousness, for the fulfillment of our prayer: “Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” When we really know, I mean really know, that God is in control, that He is sovereign, that He has the pre-eminence in all things, then it will be clear that it isn’t our position, but our disposition that makes us happy. The question then arises, when should we apply these principles to have a happy New Year? Let the Psalmist give us some spiritual insight: “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24)
There are three hundred and sixty-five days in 2020. Begin each one with the acknowledgement that God Is and you WILL have a happy day.
Be blessed in 2020. The best is yet to come.

You can begin again. Even if life has dealt you tough times and there appears to be no improvement looming on the horizon. Perhaps you are sitting where Habakkuk sat when he said: “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meant; the flock shall be cut off from the fold; and there shall be no herd in the stalls; yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will joy in the God of my salvation. (Habakkuk 3:17, 18)
Whether the year 2019 was a good year for you or not so good, if you were in abundance or you had a lean year, “yet I will rejoice in the Lord.” My joy and your joy is not contingent upon our circumstances, but rather, our joy is borne out of our relationship with our heavenly Father; through the Lord Jesus Christ. You can begin again.
First, recognize your spiritual blessings in Christ. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3) God has a blessing for you (and me).
Secondly, understand your election. “According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.” Do you see it? (Ephesians 1:4)
In His love, the Amplified Bible says, He actually picked us out for Himself as His own, that we should be consecrated and set apart for Him. As we prepare to enter into a new year, KNOW WHO YOU ARE IN GOD. Know that in His eyes, we are special. As word people, dear ones, take this word as an anthem for the year 2020: “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33)
Keep hope alive in twenty-twenty. May you have a blessed New Year.

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14) For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:17)
Dear ones, as we bask in the grace and glory, the gratuitous love of our heavenly Father, our hearts are filled with gratitude for His unspeakable (priceless) gift. Hear what the Apostle says to us: “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich.” It is this pastor’s desire for each of you, that you will experience the fullness of His priceless gift, that you will walk in the newness of life in Him, and that the abundance of your joy will abound in everything.
May you have a very Merry Christmas, and from the Word of God:
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee;
The Lord make His face shine upon thee,
and be gracious unto thee;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon the,
and give thee peace.
