HE LIVES! This phrase has reverberated over the centuries and has been a source of hope for multiplied millions. Our Lord said in John 14:19: “Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me. Because I live, ye shall live also.” Because He lives, we live. The resurrection is our assurance of His victory over hell, death and the grave. The fact of the resurrection is clearly outlined by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:2&3: “That Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” According to the scriptures! Praise God for the confidence we find in the scriptures. It is paradoxical that Jesus died that we may live and for US to live, we must die. “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him. Likewise, we reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ, our Lord,” (Romans 6:6-8, 11). Praise God for the resurrection! “But now is Christ risen from the dead and become the first fruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:20-22). So saith the Word of God for the people of God.
Happy Resurrection Day!
