Musings with the Pastor.
What an awesome event the Willie Arthur Ward Banquet 2019 was. The Banquet reflected planning, persistence, perpetuity and people. The event is a social event where we can glorify the resurrected Christ. As the Apostle Paul tells us, “Let all things be done decently and in order.” (1st Corinthians 14:40)
The planning was excellent. The “Forum” was an excellent choice for the site of an extraordinary banquet. The food was delicious and the ambiance was perfect. The entertainment spoke to Christians performing in a social setting. Wherever we are, we can hear the Lord Jesus speaking in Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
We praise God for a persistent banquet committee who persevered to ensure we had a banquet that was reflective of the Excellency of our God. We always want a banquet that honors God, but also the memory of Deacon Willie A. Ward, Sister Melvina Ellis and the many wonderful members who have gone before us. A big “God bless you” to the great people of Friendship Baptist Church and to the members of the banquet committee with special thanks to the committee chair, Sister Ethel M. Malone. (Great job Sister Malone and committee members).
Lastly, and as always, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.” (Colossians 3:17)
Let us continue.

Pastoral reflections.
When I consider the caring, the goodness, the love of God, that is found in the hearts of the dear members of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, how apropos are the words found in Galatians 6:10: “As we have, therefore, opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” There is a caring, a goodness, a loving spirit, that has been shown to the Pastor that is absolutely indescribable. Words cannot describe the vastness of the outpouring of the love of the people of Friendship. And for all that you do for this Pastor, how we thank God for you, and we appreciate all that you do to bless us. However, I must tell you that this Pastor and his family are not the only recipients of your grace. As the people of God, you truly do good to “all men.” You have been, and continue to be, a tremendous blessing. In the community, and in the church, your generosity is a continuing testimony to the faithfulness of God. Thank you for being a caring people.
The Lord bless you as you continue to be a blessing. As one of the “household of faith,” thanks for having a “heart of God.”
