From the Pastor’s Desk August 23rd Edition
To say that the last seven weeks have been challenging in the life of this Pastor and church is the under-statement of under-statements. Having said that, I must tell you this: Through it all, God has been faithful! In the midst of health challenges and the ripple effect of uncertainty it produces, thank God for the stabilizing Word of Almighty God. During the challenging circumstances of life, how comforting it is to know that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters therefore roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof” (Psalm 46:1-3). The circumstances of life might appear cataclysmic, however, our confession is borne out of our fearless trust in God. God is in the midst of His church.
Dear members, thank you for your spiritual maturity and your desire to please Him. A personal note. Thank you so very much for your prayers, your caring concern, your many acts of kindness. You have indeed been a blessing to this Pastor. And now the Lord has a Matthew 25:40 blessing for each of you.

Pastoral reflections. How apropos are the words that are found in Galatians 6:10 when I consider the caring, the goodness, the love of God, that is found in the hearts of the dear members of Friendship: “As we have, therefore, opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” There is a caring a goodness, a loving spirit, that has been shown to this pastor that is absolutely indescribable; words cannot describe the vastness of the outpouring of the love of the people of Friendship. And for all that you do for this pastor, how we thank God for you, and we appreciate all that you do to bless us. However, I must tell you that the pastor and his family are not the only recipients of your grace. As the people of God, you truly do good to “all men.” You have been, and continue to be, a tremendous blessing. In the community, and in the church, your generosity is a continuing testimony to the faithfulness of God. Thank you for being a caring people. The Lord bless you as you continue to be a blessing. As one of the “household of faith,” thanks for having the “heart of God.”

“Ever felt like you lack the natural virtues to be a man of faith (I know I have)… Then you will want to check out how Abraham became the man of faith that he was.” – Glen Beal
