Throughout the course of human history, there has been many small “g” gods. However, we know that there is only one God, the divine creator of the universe. Our Heavenly Father acknowledges the existence of small “g” gods when He says in Exodus 20:3 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” As we have said, as Christians, we serve the God who is almighty and all-powerful. This great God created the heavens and the earth. With His power to create, there is also His provision to sustain, and His presence to help. Let me pose this to you, “To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto Him? (Isaiah 40:18) No person or thing can be compared to God. “To whom then will ye liken me or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.” (Isaiah 40:25).
What an enlightenment there is in the awesome word of God. God often saved His harshest criticism and punishment for those who worship idols. “And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served Baalim: And they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the Lord to anger” (Judges 2:11-12). God was angry with Israel, and he allowed them to be punished by their enemies. How sad it is for any person to turn from the living God and turn to idols. To turn from the God who created them to a god of their creation. We need not remind you that anyone or anything that you allow to come between you and God, is your god.
Dear ones, walk in and enjoy the presence and power of Almighty God, the one true God.
