October 25, 2020
It is with great anticipation that we look forward to the resumption of in person worship services on Sunday, November 1, 2020. While live streaming our services by way of Facebook has been a joyful blessing (and we shall continue to do so), there is something special in the family coming together in the House of the Lord on the Lord’s Day. The warmth and the knitting of souls together is just so meaningful. How the words of Psalm 122 explode in my spirit: “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord. Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.”
Going to God’s house can be a chore or a delight. For the psalmist, and for this Pastor, it is a delight, and to meet with our brothers and sisters is absolutely awe inspiring. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee” (v6). When we come together our prayer is, as was that of the psalmist, not just for ourselves, but for our fellow members. That they may have peace and prosperity. As we come together again, let us remember the wonderful words of Ps 133: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”
Because we are people who do things “decently and in order”, we will wear our masks and practice social distancing, use hand sanitizers, and most of all, we will praise the Lord.
Be blessed as we continue in Him.
