September 13, 2020
May I remind you dear ones, we are now fifty-one days from the national elections of 2020. I need not tell you how important this election, and every election, is to all of us. The right to vote is a very precious right paid for with the blood of our ancestors. Voting should be looked upon as the life blood of our democracy. Not only is voting a right but it is also a privilege that we MUST exercise (capitalization for emphasis). Voting, like marriage, should not be entered into lightly or unadvisedly, but reverently with due consideration. Please take note of the entire ballot, not just the top of the ticket. As always, this Pastor will never be so presumptuous as to even suggest who you should vote for, however, we do strongly urge you to vote. You can vote early, you can vote by mail (for those who are eligible to do so), and you can vote on Election Day. Please, just vote!
Now after having considered voting in a general way, let’s look at voting with specificity. We are one person, one vote. Every vote is important, therefore every vote is important. We must vote intelligently! Study the candidates, learn as much as you can about the person and the issues. Know that your vote can and will make a difference. Additionally, know that you are a kingdom dweller and your vote should reflect His will. When we pray “thy will be done,” we are praying that God’s perfect purpose will be accomplished in this world as in the next. Therefore dear people, vote with a Godly conviction.
