Have you considered the many significant contributions children have made to the furtherance of the Kingdom of God? The bible tells us that Joash was seven years old when he began his reign as King over Judah. And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all the days of Jehoiada the priest. (II Chronicles 24:2)
This King, who began his reign at the age of seven, repaired and restored the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem. Joash developed an initiative for the collection of the mandated Temple Tax. With these funds, masons and carpenters were hired, and they restored the Temple of God according to its original design and strengthened it. All this from a boy King who listened to the Man of God. And then there was Josiah, who began his reign as King over Judah at the age of eight years old. And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined (turned) neither to the right hand, nor to the left. (II Chronicles 34:2)
When Josiah was sixteen, he began to seek the God of his ancestor David. Josiah instituted reforms in the Temple and through-out the land of Judah. He effected the destruction of all the pagan shrines, the Asherah poles, and the carved idols and cast images. He saw to it that the altars for the images of Baal and their incense altars were torn down. Well, bless God, Friendship Baptist Church has many children who are contributing significantly to the expansion of God’s Kingdom. Let me help you in identifying these marvelous young people; First, they love the Lord; secondly, they are teachable; thirdly, they are faithful. Moreover, they are caring, energetic, obedient, trusting, trustworthy and excellence is their watchword. They are in the Choir, on the Usher Board, in Sunday School and they serve as Greeters. They are now teaching in the Sunday School as they were taught in the Sunday School. They are adults serving on the Usher Board as they did as children.
Lord, thank you for our children.
