Vacation Bible School will begin on tomorrow evening at 6:30PM. Sessions are scheduled from 6:30PM to 8:30PM each evening, Monday thru Friday. Let us encourage every member of FMBC to be part of the Vacation Bible School.
There is something in the VBS for everyone. Beginning with age and gender appropriate Bible Study. There is also Arts and Crafts and Music, and the food, and the fun. This Pastor does indeed place great emphasis on the “Bible” in Vacation Bible School. The Bible is our handbook for life. You can’t know it unless you read it. In the instructions the Lord God gave to Israel concerning appointing a King to rule over them, we find some very definitive information for the Lord’s people, then and now. In Deuteronomy 17:18 through 20 (read it at your convenience), we find the following:The
King was to be a man of God’s Word. He was to
- (1) Have a copy of the law made for his personal use [keep your Bible handy.]
- (2) Keep it with him all of the time [electronic devices have made this quite easy.]
- (3) Read from it every day and,
- (4) Obey it completely
In doing this, the King would and we will learn respect for God, keep himself (and us) from feeling more important than others, and avoid neglecting God in times of prosperity.
We can’t know what God wants except through His Word, and His Word won’t affect our lives unless we read and think about it regularly. Faith comes alive when we apply scripture to our daily tasks and concerns.
Come to VBS and discover (again) the beauty of God’s Word and let it help you stay pure and grow in faith.
