What an exciting and informative session we had in Vacation Bible School – 2016. The session was well attended, the teachers were superb, the food was outstanding, and the Holy Spirit provided an on-time word for us. The focus of the teaching was Faithbook: the B-I-B-L-E, and not Facebook or other forms of social media. While social media does have its place in our twenty-first century society. To quote the Adult Student Manual: “Social media can be a valuable agent for keeping in touch and connecting with others. However, its greatest weakness is that it does not provide purpose, guidance, or direction for life. Only the “Faithbook,” God’s Word, effectively provides all three while showing us what true friendship is.”
Hear the Psalmist as he speaks to us in Psalm 119:98-103: “Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts. I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word. I have not departed from thy judgements: for thou hast taught me. How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!”
The testimony of one who knows who he (she) is and whose he (she) is. Is that person YOU? “A big God bless you,” along with our thanks and appreciation, goes out to Sister Lynne Bryant, and to all the wonderful people who worked sooo hard to make VBS-2016 the blessed session it was.
Remember:
- The B-I-B-L-E is the book for me.
- It is the inerrant Word of God.
- It’s truths are irrefutable.
- It’s Words are immutable.
- I am what it says I am.
- I can do what it says I can do.
- I will love it!
- I will read it!
- I will obey it!
