Musings with the Pastor. In the midst of life there is death. The Apostle Paul tells us in II Corinthians 4:7: “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us.”
This Pastor, along with the Greater Mt. Pilgrim Church family, do mourn the death of Pastor D.F. Curtis. Pastor Curtis has been released from the frailty of the “earthen vessel” of his humanity. He no longer has to suffer the constant hardships and sufferings for the sake of the gospel. In his human weakness and sickness, we saw gloriously manifested the triumph of divine power. Our Heavenly Father has now taken him from labor to eternal reward. We do now thank God for the life and legacy of Pastor D.F. Curtis.
We praise God for the blessings of the Willie Arthur Ward Annual Banquet and the Mission Annual Day program. Moreover, we are looking forward to the Women’s Conference.
We thank God for the dear members who give of themselves to ensure that the many functions of the Church are completed with excellence. You will not know the enormity of your contribution to the Kingdom until you get to heaven. The real answer is “the excellency of the power is of God”
Be blessed as you continue in Him.
