It is the desire of this Pastor that we always keep “School” in the Sunday School. Our Lord tells us in Matthew 11:39: “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls”. And learn of Me. Do you see it?
When we know Him, really know Him, we discover His meekness and humility, His great love for us. To quote Alexander Souter in his Pocket Lexicon, “we will find relief and refreshment and ease and recreation and blessed quiet”.
The Sunday School is where we can learn of Him in age appropriate classes and in a nourishing environment. His Word! “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”. The Word is the basis of our curriculum. “I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: Teach me thy statutes. Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: So shall I talk of thy wondrous works” (Psalm 119:26, 27).
Thank God for the Sunday School. There, His statutes are taught, we get an understanding of His precepts. Praise God for the revealed will of God found in His Word.
See you in Sunday School, there is a word there for YOU.
