On this afternoon, we travel to Lufkin, Texas, located in beautiful Angelina County, tucked away in the piney woods of deep east Texas.
One of the joys of fellow-shipping with Elder Earl Whitaker and the dear members of New Life Church (formerly Church of the Living God, Culverhouse) in addition to the Spirit filled services, is to breathe in the beauty of the country. One can enjoy the wonders of God’s creation. He can be as the Psalmist in Psalm 104, who sees the creation as the radiant and stately robe with which the invisible Creator has clothed Himself to display His glory. “Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed forever. Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: The waters stood above the mountains. Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth. He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills. They give drink to every beast of the field: The wild asses quench their thirst. By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches. He watereth the hills from His chambers: The earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works. He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man. That He may bring forth food out of the earth” (Psalm 104:5, 6, 9 – 14).
Enjoy the beauty of His creation as we travel to Lufkin.
