Dear Ones, we now stand at the threshold of a new year. The year 2009 will soon be consigned to history. During 2009, we experienced some exhilarating highs and some debilitating lows, but through it all, our God has been faithful. We praise our heavenly Father for His immutability. We have the assurance of His word that things will be well with us. “For I am the Lord, I change not; Therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” (Mal. 3:6) Contrary to what many in our society are thinking, God remains faithful to His covenant. When God says: “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all His commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth” (Deu. 28:1). Here, we have the introduction to eleven verses of blessings for the people of God, contingent upon the obedience of God’s people.
God is faithful in spite of our history of unfaithfulness. He wants to bless us. In the year of 2010, appropriate this word as a manner verse in your life: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth” (3 John 2).
Be blessed as you walk in Him in twenty-ten.
